Photographer Payment

We pay our photographers a % based on total invoice. Within Spiro, we have manually calculated this % for each service, and input the total that pay’s out to photographer for each service we have created. This is fine if you only offer A La Carte ordering. We elect to use a mix of A La Carte and curated Bundles, as bundles sell better.

For example, our “Photo Only” bundle consists of (40) MLS photos, (5) drone photos and a 2D floor plan, starting at $249.00 and increasing by SF of property. If we look at the (3) services that make up this bundle (40 photos, 5 drone photos, 2D floor plan), they would individually cost $199, $149 and $99 respectively. Total of $447.00 if ordered A La Carte. But most opt for the bundle for value.

So since we have pre-determined a 30% payout for each of these (3) services, the photographer would be paid $134.10 on an order that we only charge $249.00 for. We still need to account for our costs for editing, floor plans etc., which leaves little profit using this method, and the photographer is actually making 53.8% of the order value, which is not the 30% we offer.

There needs to be a way to pay photographers based on invoice total, or a way to individually set payout for bundles, not just services. Not having this feature would be a deal breaker as we continue to scale and onboard new photographers, as we are manually keeping track of payouts for the time being.
